TWO LUNCH & LEARNS OFFERED AT ST. ELIZABETH’S HOSPITAL FOR HEART HEALTH MONTH

Belleville – The public is invited to learn more about Heart Health during two lunchtime presentations at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital during February, which is Heart Month.

The first Lunch & Learn will be Wednesday, February 10 at 12pm in the Millennium Room of the hospital. Convenient parking available at the Southern Illinois Heart Institute building, 340 West Lincoln. Registered Dietitian Stacey Hecht of Outpatient Nutrition Services, will lead the discussion on Heart Healthy Eating to reduce cardiovascular risk factors.

There are several ways to change your diet with healthier eating habits including limiting unhealthy fats and cholesterol to lower the risk of coronary artery disease and eating more vegetables and fruits, which contribute vitamins and minerals to your body.

The second Lunch & Learn will be Wednesday, February 17 at 12pm in the Millennium Room. The topic, Heart Healthy Exercise, will be presented by Exercise Physiologist Karena Beckmann. The public can learn what type of exercise is best for those at risk for cardiovascular disease and related health issues.
