archbishop wilton gregory to speak at fontbonne university
Archbishop Wilton Gregory will be the guest speaker at Fontbonne University's Carondelet Lecture Series.
He will discuss "Exploring the Jewish/ChristianDiaologue" at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 in the Doerr Memorial Chapel on Fontbonne's campus in Clayton, Mo.
Archbishop Gregory was the seventh bishop of Belleville, serving here from February 1994 to January 2005 when he was installed as the Atlanta, Ga., archbishop.
Archbishop Gregory is well known in St. Louis and the Metro-East, having served here, and during that time was elected vice-president and then president of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. He was noted for his leadership and has written extensively on church issues, publishing many articles in varous publications.
The Carondelet Lecture Series is an activity of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet Endowed Chair in Catholic Thought at Fontbonne and is co-sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. The event is part of the university's dedicated semester: "Judaism and Its Cultures." Seating is limited, and reservtions must be made by Sept. 24.
