statue dedicated at mt. carmel cemetery in belleville

The newest section in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville is called St. Joseph’s Garden.
The cemetery has already expanded this section, and has added a new Memorial Garden.
The first two phases of this memorial garden are completed.
The third phase will include installing memorial bricks that can be inscribed with a loved one’s name.
This third and final phase is hoped to be completed by fall if the funds allow.
The cemetery is relying on donations to complete this project. This garden was built as a tribute to Joe Hubbard, the cemetery’s director.
Hubbard was surprised with an inscription on the base of the statue that reads: “In Honor of Joseph Hubbard — for the dedication, compassion and respect he has shown the families of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. ‘Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is in the Lord.’ Jeremiah 17:7”
That passage from Jeremiah speaks volumes of what Joe Hubbard is all about, the staff at the cemetery and Catholic Urban Programs said. He helps those in need and trusts that the Lord will provide.
Hubbard has dedicated his time, talent and treasure at Mt. Carmel Cemetery and has never accepted a salary for this job.
People who are involved with the cemetery said they thought it was time Hubbard knew how much they appreciated what he does.
