His Excellency the Most Rev. Edward K. Braxton, Ph.D., S.T.D., Bishop of Belleville, is pleased to announce the following clergy, religious and lay appointments, effective Tuesday, July 12, 2011, unless otherwise indicated.
Retirement (canon 538§1)

The Rev. Msgr. Donald W. Eichenseer, until now, Pastor of St. Bernard Parish, Albers and St. Damian Parish, Damiansville, is granted retirement status effective Aug. 1, 2011, after fifty years of service
to the Diocese since his Ordination on May 27, 1961.

The Rev. Albert E. Kreher, until now, Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Trenton, is granted retirement status after 46 years of service to the Diocese since his Ordination on May 1, 1965.

The Rev. Msgr. Joseph A. Lawler, V.F., until now, Vicar Forane (Dean) of the East Deanery and Pastor of St. John Nepomucene Parish, Dahlgren; St. Clement Parish, McLeansboro; and St. John the Baptist Parish, Piopolis, is granted retirement status, after fifty years of service to the Diocese since his Ordination on May 27, 1961.

Deacon Omer E. DuBois, until now, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Mary, Divine Maternity, Ellis Grove, is granted retirement status, after twenty-five and one half years of service to the Diocese since his Ordination on Dec. 21, 1985.

The Rev. John J. Joyce
, Pastor of St. Barbara Parish, Okawville, is appointed Pastor of St. Bernard Parish, Albers and St. Damian Parish, Damiansville, while retaining his present pastorate, effective Aug. 1, 2011.

The Rev. Stanley J. Konieczny
, until now, Pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Lively Grove and St. Liborius Parish, St. Libory, is appointed Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Smithton.

The Rev. Joseph C. Rascher, until now Pastor of St. Stephen Parish, Caseyville, is appointed Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Trenton.

The Very Rev. C. Raymond Schultz, V.F., Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Fairview Heights, is appointed Pastor of St. Stephen Parish, Caseyville, while retaining his present pastorate.

Parochial Administrators (canon 539)
The Rev. Peter D. Balili
, a fidei donum missionary priest of the Diocese of Tagbilaran in the Philippines, currently serving as a chaplain at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Calif., is appointed Administrator of St. Andrew Parish, Christopher and St. Mary Parish, Sesser.

The Rev. Matthew J. Elie, until now, Parochial Vicar at Blessed Sacrament Parish, Belleville, is appointed Administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Belleville.

The Very Rev. Daniel J. Jurek, V.F., Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Prairie du Rocher and St. Leo Parish, Modoc, is appointed Administrator, Pro tempore, of St. Patrick Parish, Tipton.

The Rev. Slawomir Ptak, a fidei donum missionary priest of the Diocese of Tarnów, Poland, until now, Parochial Vicar at St. John Nepomucene Parish, Dahlgren; St. Clement Parish, McLeansboro; and St. John the Baptist Parish, Piopolis, is appointed Administrator of the same parishes.

The Rev. Benjamin J. Stern, administrator of St. Boniface Parish, Evansville, is appointed Administrator of St. Mary of the Divine Maternity Parish, Ellis Grove, while retaining his present Administrator appointment.

Prison Ministry and Sacramental Ministers (canon 517§2)
The Rev. John Kizhakedan
, a Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), new to our Diocese, is appointed to Prison Ministry in the Diocese, and as Sacramental Minister at St. Patrick Parish, Tipton, with residence at St. Pius X Parish, Walsh.

The Rev. Christian Reuter, OFM, while continuing his Prison Ministry in the Diocese, is appointed Sacramental Minister at St. Anthony Parish, Lively Grove and St. Liborius Parish, St. Libory.

The Rev. Stephen F. Poole
, returning from sick leave, is appointed Sacramental Minister at St. Barbara Parish Okawville effective Aug. 1, 2011.

Parochial Vicars (Associate Pastors — canon 547)
The Rev. Anthony O. Onyango
, newly ordained, is appointed Parochial Vicar at Holy Trinity Parish, Fairview Heights and St. Stephen Parish, Caseyville, with residence at St. Stephen Rectory.

The Rev. Sean M. Palas, until now, Parochial Vicar at Our Lady Queen of Peace, St. Henry and Blessed Sacrament parishes, Belleville, is appointed to the Faculty of Althoff Catholic High School and Parochial Vicar at St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish (and St. Luke Parish), Belleville.

Parish Life Coordinators (canon 517§2)
Deacon Robert Lippert
, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Anthony Parish in Beckemeyer and St. Augustine Parish in Breese is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.

Sister Carol Karnitsky, sscm, Parish Life Coordinator at Holy Spirit Parish in Carterville, is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.

Sister Grace Marie Mueller, SSND, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Luke Parish in Belleville, is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.

Mrs. Brenda A. Pehle, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Joseph Parish in Lebanon is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.

Sister Diane M. Turner, SSND, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Felicitas Parish in Beaver Prairie, is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.

Sister Catherine Wellinghoff, ASC, Parish Life Coordinator at St. Paul Parish in Johnston City, is reappointed to that same ministry for a period of one year.
