Al Hrabosky, a.k.a. the “mad Hungarian,” and Fredbird from the baseball Cardinals took their “dog and feather” show called “Doin It Right” on the road to St. Clare School March 25 to talk to students about doing the right thing: staying in school, staying away from drugs and staying active in sports.

They also handed out awards to an essay winner from each grade level at the school.

During the assembly, students were asked to explain why drugs were harmful.

Some of their answers included: Drugs can kill you; they’re illegal; they waste money and brain power.
Some positive messages the Cardinal duo delivered: Stay in school; stay involved in activities, including sports; and don’t eat junk food all day.

Students and teachers enjoyed the assembly with Fredbird dancing, not with the stars but the faculty, before the event ended.
