More than 500 young people and adults gathered for their annual youth conference March 13-14 at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, Ill.

With a theme “Based in Faith,” young people sang, listened, questioned and prayed about their journeys of faith with keynote speaker Jesse Manibusan, Karl Zimmerman and his “house band” and a variety of workshops geared to energize both young people and adults.

A highlight of the conference was a question and answer period with Bishop Edward K. Braxton and the closing liturgy with Bishop Braxton as principal celebrant and homilist.

At an awards banquet, young people and adults were recognized and celebrated with recognition and then a dance and opportunity for Karaoke after the banquet.

Diocesan youth ministry director, Colette Kennett was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry.
