St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis continues talks

Though several management companies and private parties have expressed interest in acquiring and managing St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis in the past few months, the most prominent talks have been of a potential partnership between the hospital and Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville.

Negotiations between St. Mary’s Hospital, owned by Ancilla Systems of Hobart, Ind., and sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, and Touchette Regional Hospital, owned by the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, are at the preliminary stage, according to Thomas Handy of Ancilla.
