Poor Handmaids will maintain ownership of St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis and look for another buyer

Two vice presidents at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis took over day-to-day operations when an agreement to sell the hospital was terminated.

Beth Kaminski, CEO of Ancilla Systems, appointed Alan Biggerstaff and Scott Steiner as the management team for the hospital. Biggerstaff has been employed by St. Mary’s for 28 years and Steiner for 13.

“We both have a history within the hospital and are familiar with the direction the hospital is going,” Biggerstaff said.
