young people march on washington

Young and old left the Diocese of Belleville to go to the nation's capital for the annual March on Washington in support of children not yet born.

From Gibault Catholic High School, students Kelly Knefelkamp, Molly Deihl, Caroline Kernan, Natalie Schweiger, and Kelsey Osterhage  joined over 400,000 proLife supporters from across he country in our nation's capital for the 38th annual March for Life.

Other Gibault students included Brian Reinholz, Adam Breisacher, Will Shepherd and Adam Kreher.
The March included time for prayer, liturgies and a rally designed especially for youth at the Washington, D.C., armory.

“If we are going to rid our nation of the tragedy of abortion, then we are going to have to rid our society and ourselves of the culture of death,” said Father Patrick Riffle, parochial vicar at St. Peter Parish in Olney, Md. “The remedy that is needed to cure this plague is not a law to be enacted, not a (court) ruling that can be overturned, not an executive order, but it is a person — Jesus Christ.”
